Every year there are approximately 500,000 nests on Kuaihelani. However, these three small islands are just a few feet above sea level, and severe storms as well as rising sea levels create a dangerous future. But nesting on the north shore of Kaua\u02bbi and other areas across the high Hawaiian Islands can provide a safer future.
